Sheila moved to San Diego in July and has recently started subbing classes! Look for her on the schedule at Akasha Yoga in La Jolla, and stay tuned for more class offerings as her own local schedule evolves. Her teaching style blends the graceful movement of vinyasa flow with a strong focus upon principles of anatomical alignment. Classes explore creative sequences of poses linked together with deep breath to develop greater stability, strength, flexibility, and clarity in both body and mind. 

Sunday Soul Flow

Ease into your Sunday with a mindful practice that weaves philosophical theming with therapeutic principles of alignment and a smooth, flowing sequence. This class offers an opportunity to explore and strengthen your own true nature and unique alignment on the mat so that you may more clearly and skillfully express yourself out in the world. Align & Flow

Tuesday & Thursday evenings, 5:30 - 6:30 pm @ Open Space Studio

A potpourri of fluid movement and steady asana, Align & Flow is a balanced practice that integrates the joyous, free-flowing nature of Vinyasa with a focus upon and attention to principles of alignment.

Yoga Basics: 5-class series

Tuesday evenings, 6:30 - 7:30 pm (JANUARY 31 - FEBRUARY 28TH, 2017) @ Open Space Studio

This 60-minute class covers basic movements, fundamental yoga poses, techniques for breathing and relaxation, plus helpful guidance for preventing and healing from injury. Ample demonstration, thorough instruction, and hands-on assistance provides students with the basic building blocks to safely & confidently develop a yoga practice. 

Geared towards those who are new to the mat, this class will also serve as a great refresher to students of any level. Reviewing the fundamentals in a new way has the ability to help you truly take ownership of your practice and deepen your connection with yourself :)

Earlybird Hot Yoga

Monday & Friday mornings (through the month of February), 6:30 - 7:30 pm @ Open Space Studio

Start your day right! This heated class (95-100 degrees) explores creative Vinyasa flow sequencing with an emphasis on core strength and proper alignment. Expect to sweat, challenge yourself, and leave with a great big smile on your face :) 

All levels welcome--and encouraged! Please bring a bottle of water and small towel to class.
